KEYBOARDIST JATTAN NOTED
AS A 'SYNTHESIST'

During the 1980's, keyboardist JENNY JATTAN studied classical theory and performance at Chabot College, playing in a
jazz band and winning 2 awards for "outstanding musicianship" during inter-collegiate competitions.
"I went on to study
classical composition at Cal State Hayward University," she said, "where I participated in another jazz band and used that
money to compose and record my own music."
"I also taught rudimentary theory and practice in a music lab where I monitored
students of all ages and careers, from college professors and engineers, to young children and teenagers, introducing them
all to music staples such as rock and pop."
Circa 1985, JENNY JATTAN continued to study jazz piano and guitar in San
Fancisco, where the impact of 'fusion' music was becoming prominent again, counting as her major influences Pat Metheny, Tanya
Maria, Spirogyra and Larry Carlton.
Touring the Bay Area and Oakland, JENNY JATTAN played various club venues, duly
noted as an up and coming 'synthesist'.
Working in Toronto, JENNY JATTAN has played with bands "Cadillac Bill and the
Creeping Bent", "The Riff" and "The Essentials".
JENNY JATTAN has recorded 3 CD's with Cadillac Bill and 1 with Terez
Montcalm, also performing/appearing in the 1994 music video "Being Human", broadcast over Canada's "MuchMusic" and "BreakfastTelevision".
Today
JENNY JATTAN is recording more original compositions and continues to teach "piano music of all styles to people of all ages"
